Hash House Harriers: Are you following your “True Trail”?

Friday, November 11th, 2011

One of my favorite past times, as I traveled the world, was participating as a member of the Hash House Harriers Running Club. The premise often involved hundreds of runners (pack or hounds) looking for clues along the road to indicate the correct path, better known as  “True Trail” in order to get to the finish line.  The clues are left on sidewalks by designated runners, called “Rabbits”. As one might expect the lead rabbit would leave clues for the correct path, while two or three other rabbits would leave  misleading signs or “False Trails” enticing anyone willing to follow to a dead end. It was designed to keep the pack together.

The Uncertain

There are many things in life that we know for sure that it will happen sooner or later. It is things that whatever we do to prevent it never we succeed. Many things we are certain that it will happen over the course of life.

Questions that have no answers leave us occupying our minds with some of nonsense of medieval times. What are those questions and why do we ask ourselves these types of questions?!

Since mankind existed on earth they have questioned the reason of their existence: why I am here? How and when did we become the only dominant creatures of the known universe? Are we really the only beings of our kind who possess this knowledge? What knowledge do we really possess if we can’t answer the most pressing questions?

Faith: The Common Thread in a Diverse World

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

These days, many of us have more worries on our minds than we did two years ago. Most people are concerned about their jobs and their bank accounts. And if you are not personally concerned, you are most likely close to someone who is more anxious than usual. This is a time when all of us must remember that Faith is Power.

Faith is the belief that things will get better and that which seems impossible is possible. It has often been said, “thoughts are things and they change our lives.” If we have thoughts that life will get better, then our creative imaginations are able to create solutions to our problems and we travel down the road of success. If on the other hand, our thoughts keep telling us that life will not get better, then we are likely to create unhappy times and travel down the road of a less successful life.

Visualize and Affirm Your Desired Outcomes

You have an awesome power that most of us have never been taught to use effectively. Elite athletes use it. The super rich use it. And peak performers in all fields now use it. That power is called visualization.

The daily practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate your achievement of those dreams, goals and ambitions. Visualization of your goals and desires accomplishes four very important things.

  1. It activates your creative subconscious which will start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.
  2. It programs your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.
  3. It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to achieve your goals.
