Before your birth, as you were making the decision to focus yourself into this Leading Edge time-space reality, it was your powerful intention to enjoy every moment of the process. You understood then, from your Non-Physical perspective, that you are a creator and that you were coming into an environment with enormous potential for joyful, satisfying experiences in creation.

You understood that you are a creator, and that the Earth experience would be the perfect platform from which you would launch numerous satisfying creations – and here you are.

Before your birth into your physical body, you knew that once you were here, you would be surrounded by others and that your relationships with those others would be the primary source of the contrast you would live. You understood, also, that these contrasting relationships would provide the very basis of your personal expansion, as well as the very basis of your enormous contribution to Eternal expansion, and you eagerly welcomed your interaction with all of them – and here you are.

There was nothing in your plan about being here that included struggle or hardship. You did not believe that you were coming into physical form to right past wrongs, or to fix a broken world, or even to evolve (in the sense that you were currently lacking in something). Instead, you knew this physical experience would be an environment that would provide a balance of contrast from which you would personally make increasingly improved choices that would add to your own expansion as well as to the collective expansion of All-That-Is.

You knew that this world of contrast would induce from you the expansion that literally puts the Eternalness into Eternity; and your appreciation for the contrasting environment on planet Earth was enormous, for you understood that contrast is the basis of expansion, and that the expansion would be joyous – and here you are.

Before your birth into your physical body, you knew the value of variety and of diversity, for you understood that every new preference, desire, or idea would be born from that contrast. And you knew that this contrast not only provided the literal basis for expansion, but also the basis for your joyful experience. And, most of all, you knew that your joyful experience would be the ultimate reason for every part of every part of every part of all of this Beingness. You knew that it all exists for the joyful moments that would constantly explode into your awareness along the way – and here you are.

Before your birth, you understood contrast to be the variety from which you would make your choices. You knew that your surrounding environment would be like a dining buffet spread out before you, from which you would choose, and that nothing about that environment was permanent because your constant new choices would cause it to continually change – and here you are.

Before your birth, you understood that all choices are made by giving attention to something. You knew that you were about to focus your Consciousness into a physical body and into a physical time-space reality; and that you would make your selections from the contrasting buffet of choices that would surround you by your attention, focus, or thought – and here you are.

Before your birth, you understood that the Earth environment, like all environments – physical and Non-Physical – is a Vibrationally based environment, which is managed by the Law of Attraction (that which is like unto itself, is drawn); and you knew that your attention to any subject was your invitation for your personal participation with it – and here you are.

Before your birth, in considering your physical experience on planet Earth, you did not request to be born into an environment of sameness or agreement, where all of the variety had already been considered and all of the decisions about how life should be lived had been made, for you were a powerful creator who was coming forth for the purpose of making your own decisions and of creating your own joyful experience.

You knew that diversity would be your best friend, and that conformity, on every level, would be the opposite. You literally dived in, in eagerness to find your bearings and to then begin to explore, from your own personal, important, and powerful viewpoint, your contrasting surroundings, from which you would carve out your creations – and here you are.

Many people express concern and frustration – and, at times, anger and resentment – that they did not retain conscious awareness of these prebirth decisions, but we submit that you arrived in your physical body with something even more important intact: you were born with a personal Guidance System to help you to know – every step (or thought) along the way – when you are diverging from your prebirth understanding of life, and when you are on track.

It is our desire that you become consciously aware of your own Guidance System so that you can explore this new frontier of creation in alignment with the stability of your Non-Physical knowledge.

It is our desire to help you consciously reconnect with who-you-really-are and to help you replace myriad false premises – which you have erroneously picked up along your physical trail – with Universal, Law-based premises of life.

It is our desire to help to you solve the mystery of seemingly impossible relationships; to sort out the details of sharing your planet with billions of others; to rediscover the beauty of differences; and, most of all, to reestablish the most important relationship of all: your relationship with the Eternal, Non-Physical Source that is really you – and here we are.

Being desireless is not about having no desire, but it is about having no attachment to desire. Attachment is the cause of all suffering. Suffering is burning emotional energy on the uncontrollable. The more you suffer, the more suffering you attract. Letting go of all attachments is the way to end all suffering. When you are attached, you are in a state of wanting or lacking. When you are detached, you are in a state of being desireless. Enlightenment is about knowing why detachment gets you your desire.

Physical reality is an illusion created by consciousness to rediscover itself. It is an illusion that you do not have what you already want, because you already have all that you desire in spiritual reality. Physical reality is a place for you to manifest anything that you are resonating with from spiritual reality. When you are attached, you are resonating with the spiritual untruth that you do not have your desire. When you are detached, you are resonating with the spiritual truth that you already have your desire.

You free yourself by being emotionally detached from choices. Many people fail to get what they want because they do not free themselves to have it. You trap yourself when you are attached to choices. You think that it has to work a particular way rather than allowing yourself to go another way. Detachment from choices is what gives you true freedom of choice. You are able to choose again in every moment and are free to make a different choice if you will. Detachment from choice is secret of flexibility.

Stock market trading success comes to those who trade in an enlightened way. The masses are emotionally attached to choices and that is why they lose money when they hold on to failing stocks instead of selling them. They also fail to sell when the stock has reached a substantial level of growth because they are attached to seeing it grow forever. The elite traders are not attached to choices but they buy and sell freely in a way that makes them more money than losing it. To be unattached is to be free.

Having the relationships you want also comes from being enlightened. What a woman really wants is an enlightened man. He is a man who realizes his true being as a free spirit. He is free to express himself to her and he is free from being affected by her. Being detached is the attractive quality that makes a man uncontrollable by a lady. Being undefined by external factors is what makes him self assured. He is capable of loving fearlessly and loving without attachment. Enlightened loving is loving like a god.

Those who are enlightened get what they want by benefiting from movement and changes, whether positive or negative. It no longer matters to them whether the stock goes up or down. They have strategies to make money either way. It no longer matters to them whether which person likes or don’t like them, or when their partner is happy or unhappy with them. They simply allow themselves to enjoy all the happiness and positive energy they experience from whoever, whenever and however it comes.

Enlightened manifestation of your desires is about getting the essence of what you want and not being attached to the form or channel. Those who are attached to form or channel will suffer more and more, and have less and less self esteem. Whereas those who are not attached will be able to enjoy more and more of the things they like in life, and have more and more self esteem. Those who have more self esteem are more capable of having the success and relationships they want compared to the others.

Freedom from attachment is also the reason why the rich get richer and the happy get happier, while the poor get poorer and the unhappy get unhappier. Having comes from being. When you are being detached, you are resonating with having. When you are being attached, you are resonating with not having. That is why it has always been said that you will finally be able to have what you want when you no longer want it. It does not mean you do not want it, but you are no longer in a state of wanting it.

All that we want is peace and bliss. We think that when we have all the material things we want, we will have peace and bliss. But that is because we don’t really know what peace and bliss are. It is peace and bliss that bring us everything else in life. Peace is total transcendence. Bliss is an untouchable happiness. When we transcend all illusions of the material world, we are in a state of peace where we can manifest anything we want. When we have no attachments, we have a happiness that cannot go.

Enlightenment is the key to everything. The unenlightened may ask what enlightenment has got to do with making the money or getting the girl that you want. The answer is everything. When you are enlightened, you realize that it is not about getting this or that, but it is all about knowing what reality is, and who you really are. Then from that space of knowingness and beingness, you are free to create whatever you wish. You’re free to play with illusions without being trapped by any, as it is all just a game.

Your spiritual quest can be anything based on your higher values. No two people have the exact same values, so no two people have the same idea of what spirituality is. Each soul-mind expresses itself in its singular way. I like to think of it in this way: As the higher energy frequency lowers or descends to the finiteness of humanity, it dualizes into a value system and animates or incarnates into a body. Each physical incarnation and each value system, comprising “positives” and “negatives,” has the imprint of God and the unique expression of an individual.

Whatever you love and dedicate your life to shows you where your spirituality and even your spiritual quest can be found. I can imagine that Donald Trump’s spiritual life might revolve around building giant, first-class structures in New York, Atlantic City, or other major cities across the globe. My own is all about traveling as a teacher, healer, and philosopher, setting foot in every country throughout the world. I feel this is my GOD-ordained gift – the reason I’m here on this planet.

Do you know what your values are? Do you have a sense of your spiritual mission?

If you don’t and I’ve got you thinking, we’re right on track. If you’d like some help discovering your own values, that’s coming up. Meanwhile, let me advise you again to remain aware of what an illusion it is to judge someone else’s values – or even your own – as wrong. It’s not uncommon for someone to react to my description of Trump’s spirituality with some kind of sneer: “That’s not spiritual. That’s just materialism, pride, and greed.” Or you fill in the blank with whatever pejorative word you might use. But please realize that no one’s values are “wrong,” and no one else’s are “right.” (Although everyone at times thinks theirs are “right.”)

This concept seems especially difficult for people where money is concerned – it’s one of the main reasons why I wrote the book How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven. In it, I addressed the nature of the spiritual and material, including how many people perceive them as if they were oil and water and never mix. Yet I see no reason these two human driving forces can’t be integrated – they aren’t at odds with each other.

The ancient Egyptians said that spirit without matter is expressionless, and matter without spirit is motionless. The two together make up existence as we know it. When the two are separated, we’re dis-empowered. When they’re united, we have true power – we experience wholeness. Hubert Howe Bancroft, a historian and publisher, once proposed that if we can marry our spiritual drive and our material drive—if we can achieve our spiritual cause and receive material wealth in the process, and in turn use our material wealth for that spiritual cause – then we are the greatest power on the planet. He pointed out that all the people, institutions, and cultures that have left a profound imprint on the world have done so because they’ve integrated these two forces.

This is just to ask again, Where is spirit not? Where is love not? It’s everywhere, in everything, and in everyone.

Ever since I was 17 and had my near-death experience (the accidental strychnine poisoning I mentioned earlier), I’ve felt a desire to understand health, wholeness, well-being, and human potential. So I’ve dedicated my life to that – it’s my spiritual quest. In the second chapter, you also read about my “mission book,” which was inspired by Paul Bragg’s admonition to write down my purpose and objectives, review them constantly, update them regularly, and never throw them away. What began on a scrap of paper many years ago has become a series of large books and a daily reading ritual: Every day I work on it, refining my mission and my dreams. Right now, my mission and dream books include four volumes describing every single thing I’d love to create in my life spiritually, mentally, vocationally, financially, socially, physically, and in my family.

You see, once I realized that if I don’t decide, someone else decides, I made a commitment to put my heart and soul into this creation. If you read what I’ve written there, it would be obvious to you that I’ve poured thousands of hours of work into it. No doubt I’ve spent more time on this than on anything else in my life.

Let me encourage you to use this book to spur you into beginning and evolving your own mission book. You can create a notebook, computer file, or what have you, and you can record your responses to all the questions you read here. Creating this type of document for yourself will not only give you a greater sense of connection with your spiritual purpose, but it will help you clarify it to such an extent that you can see, feel, hear, and taste every aspect of it.

Once your mind is clear and your heart is open, magic happens and the universe seems to lay out a red carpet for you to get where you’re headed. If you’re not sure about your intentions, you probably have to work like hell to get whatever you nebulously imagine you’re after. Know this: Whatever you write down as your spiritual pathway will open doors. Some people may dismiss this, but you’ll never be able to convince me that writing down your dreams isn’t incredibly powerful. That’s because it isn’t just an idea that I like to talk about but never do myself. No! I’ve watched the power of my dreams unfolding as I’ve written about them in my mission book.

And I advocate that you do the same for yourself. This has inspired me, and I’d love to help you live an inspired life of your own in your own unique way. So I ask you again to explore this with depth, seriousness, clarity, and inspiration: What is your spiritual purpose, your cause, your immortal quest? What is your service to the world? What do you want to contribute? What is your hidden spiritual agenda – that is, what do you want in return for your service? Find your spiritual mission – whatever it is! Find out what truly inspires you, and start defining exactly what you’d love in your life.
