I have been a dilletante in this field for many years . Always felt like the proverbial "square peg in a round hole". Whenever I felt ready to get past just "dipping my toes" into the metaphysical waters , something came along to confuse me . I have a few heroes in the New Thought movement I.E Thomas Troward , Charles Haanel , W.W Atkinson (ramacharaka) , Florence Shinn , etc., etc-. My first hero was Joel Goldsmith , a great spiritual writer , and spiritual healer . I have a great respect for many of the New Thought writers , as I do for Joel Goldsmith . My confusion is this Joel did not believe in affirmations actually , spoke against them as a waste of time . I do not believe he would have considered himself a New Thought writer I love Joel's teachings , as I do the fine New Thought teachings should I just let this "problem" resolve itself , or is there something I can do to help to resolve it . respectfully, Len Cooper
