The Reflect Story – Inspirational Affirmations to Wear

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Reflect is a new company on the horizon and is having an instantaneous impact on the way people are thinking about fashion.  For the first time, clothes are being used to better our lives…

The creators of the company are brother and sister, Drew and Caroline, and for the last 15 years they’ve been a source of inspiration for one other.  Turning to the other for guidance and support in times of need, they’ve developed a relationship of encouragement and empowerment.  Growing up they shared the same intense fulfillment in bringing happiness to others, and often, were sources of hope and inspiration for those around them.

Validation - Short Film

Nearly five years ago, author and entrepreneur Gay Hendricks had an idea to create a DVD club that would provide films about love, compassion and inspiration.

His idea soon grew into Spiritual Cinema Circle, a subscription-based DVD club which finds movies at film festivals around the world and delivers them to members each month on a DVD that they get to keep.

So, what exactly is spiritual cinema?
Box office hits such as FIELD OF DREAMS, GHOST, WHALE RIDER and WHAT THE #$*! DO WE KNOW are all well-known examples. According to Hendricks, “Spiritual Cinema is the kind of entertainment we really need these days: movies that make you feel at better about being human.”

Would It Be All Right With You If Life Got Easier?

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Would it be all right with you if life got easier? I’ve asked tens of thousands of people that question over the past twenty years. After a pause, most of them say something like: “That’s obvious. Yes. Of course!”

Take a moment with that question. While you may find yourself giving an immediate “yes,” you could notice another question on your mind: “What’s the catch?”

There isn’t any catch. But this question about having life get easier flies in the face of what we normally consider the successful life to be. Many of us have learned that success is won by hard work – even struggle. We’ve raised the bar on our goals and achievements, while comparing ourselves to what we think others have accomplished. We get frustrated because we think we’re not doing enough to get ahead.

6 Essential Insights of a Conscious Leader

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I’ve had the Entrepreneurial bug for as long as I can remember.  As a child I was the one who always wanted to play business, who wanted to have the lemonade stand, and who would designate others to roles of managers or sales persons so that I could go off and create our next business.

I would often wonder though, why would the other kids so readily follow me and fall into the places I designed for each of them?  Why didn’t I ever run into the kid who would ask, “Who left and put you in charge?”  What was the key to making everyone feel a necessary part of the whole success?  These and many other leadership keys would become a focus of my quest to understand successful entrepreneurship.
