The Lost Mode of Prayer – From Intervention to Acceptance

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Modern prayer researchers currently identify four modes of prayer used in the west today. Does an additional mode exist? Is there a fifth mode of prayer that allows us to participate in the outcome of the events within our bodies as well as the world around us?

Recent findings in remote temple sites where these traditions remain today, combined with new research into some of the most sacred and esoteric traditions of our past, lead me to believe that the answer is “Yes!”

Faith: The Common Thread in a Diverse World

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

These days, many of us have more worries on our minds than we did two years ago. Most people are concerned about their jobs and their bank accounts. And if you are not personally concerned, you are most likely close to someone who is more anxious than usual. This is a time when all of us must remember that Faith is Power.

Faith is the belief that things will get better and that which seems impossible is possible. It has often been said, “thoughts are things and they change our lives.” If we have thoughts that life will get better, then our creative imaginations are able to create solutions to our problems and we travel down the road of success. If on the other hand, our thoughts keep telling us that life will not get better, then we are likely to create unhappy times and travel down the road of a less successful life.

Moving Beyond Attachments into True Experience

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Often, we become attached to something or someone because deep down we fear we wouldn’t be complete without them. We fear letting go into the presence of the unknown, and feel that we would be left bereft, lost, alone without that outer possession, person, lifestyle. Indeed, some of us have become so identified with these things that we experience them as our actual identity … I’m Mr. or Mrs. so-and-so … I’m a teacher, engineer, business person … I live in … My children are … My lifestyle is … I, I, I, … My, my, my, …

Sometimes this identity can become so real for us that without it we fear there would be nothing or no one there. We fear non-existence.
