Self-Disclosure – Changes from Within

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

When people think of dreams, and what it takes to make them happen, they often underestimate their own mind power and what is going on beneath the surface of conscious awareness.  Internal energy creates and manifests precisely what a person needs, even if it is not necessarily what they consciously want and work toward. Every human being has his or her own secrets waiting to be rediscovered.

In the case of Self-Disclosure: Changes from Within, it initially becomes apparent the author has her own ideas of dreams she hopes to realize.  She focuses her energy and the power of intention in certain conscious directions, only to learn her unconscious mind and the universe clearly have other plans. Before long, she realizes she is in for a big wake-up call that touches on every area of her life.

Forgiveness – The Key to Positive Living

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

Forgiveness is the key that can unshackle us from a past that will not rest in the grave of things over and done with. As long as our minds are captive to the memory of having been wronged, they are not free to wish for reconciliation with the one who wronged us.“ Lewis B. Smedes.

For over 20 years I carried a grudge, an anger closer to hatred of my own mother. I felt totally justified and was utterly convinced I had the right to express openly this anger against what I believed was my mother’s absence and lack of caring, love or any motherly feelings toward me since the death of my father. In fact I drew my strength from these things to carry on with my life.

Happiness is a Learning Curve

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

There are plenty of learning curves to choose from. Traditionally, many of us have used pain and suffering and sacrifice and failure as our chief learning curves. If this is true for you, you have probably attended the school of hard knocks, and you have employed grief and heartache as your teachers.

It is well to remember, however, that you can also choose from a range of more pleasant learning curves, such as love as a learning curve, authenticity as a learning curve, and success as a learning curve.

You choose your learning curve. No one or nothing else makes this choice for you.

Validation - Short Film

Nearly five years ago, author and entrepreneur Gay Hendricks had an idea to create a DVD club that would provide films about love, compassion and inspiration.

His idea soon grew into Spiritual Cinema Circle, a subscription-based DVD club which finds movies at film festivals around the world and delivers them to members each month on a DVD that they get to keep.

So, what exactly is spiritual cinema?
Box office hits such as FIELD OF DREAMS, GHOST, WHALE RIDER and WHAT THE #$*! DO WE KNOW are all well-known examples. According to Hendricks, “Spiritual Cinema is the kind of entertainment we really need these days: movies that make you feel at better about being human.”
